Parma

The group rendezvous  is at 10am at Bologna International Airport  (also called Guglielmo Marconi International Airport). From there it's a 1 hour 30 minute drive to the elegant and historic city of Parma. (You can choose to rendezvous with the group in Parma itself.)

The region surrounding Parma produces excellent wine and fresh produce, and is particularly well-known as the origin of prosciutto di Parma  ham, parmigiano reggiano  cheese, and Lambrusco, a sparkling red wine.

The city holds some of Italy's most precious art in its galleries, museums, and churches.

The journey will be launched in style, with a classic lunch shoulder-to-shoulder with the locals in one of Parma's most popular trattoria's. The rest of the day is free to explore Parma's maze of cobble-stoned streets, piazzas and public gardens.

Parma is a city for cyclists, with many of the streets closed to private vehicles. Everyone gets around on bikes of every kind. You can join them if you like, with bike rental available in the city centre.
